Stand Alone Taste Test
Java Ciwidey
There are hints of fruit and nuts buried under the primary flavor which is earthy. Earthy, as in fresh from the garden, unwashed and straight into your mouth.
The taste for this bean is so full you can almost chew the flavors.
Yemen Mocca Matari
A lighter body is in this bean than in the Java Ciwidey, but that doesn't mean it is lighter in flavor.
The first sip took my breath away.
The sweet, chocolatey taste coated my mouth and slid down my throat when I swallowed leaving a delightful cinnamon spice to tickle my tongue.
Mocca Java the blend
I poured three measured ratios of the Mocca and the Java roasts and blended them into cups.
- two thirds Java & one third Mocca.
It was okay. The Mocca roast definitely aided in balancing the intense earthy taste of the Java, but it was still too full bodied for my pallet. - half Mocca & half Java.
This one startled me. The predominate flavor was cherries. I didn't really taste fruit in either roast independently, but put them together in equal proportions and...Wow. - two thirds Mocca & one third Java.
The best blend. The chocolate flavors competed nicely with the earthiness. A spicy cinnamon finish to each sip made my pallet hum contentedly
But you don't have to take my word for it. Try the different ratios for yourselves.
Which ratio do you prefer? I would love to hear from you and learn something new.
